As a former science teacher of 11 years, I’m constantly creating things that children and adults can connect with. Exploring, learning and trying new things can be even more rewarding when you have the photos to accompany the stories. Photography is a fantastic way to tell a story and capture specific moments in time. Each photo tells a story, freezing that moment in time and saving it for you for years to come.
Family or portrait sessions are all about remembering “this time of life,” as well as these specific memories — these particular toddler snuggles, this special embrace, the way this exact Maui sunset looks right now. New clients frequently comment at the end of a session, “I don’t know how the pictures will be, but that sure was fun!”
I’m always happy to do what it takes to get just the right shot – whether chasing toddlers along the sand, lying down in the dirt for a new perspective, or making crazy faces and noises for a smile.
I started officiating weddings several years ago, which was a new challenge and an extremely rewarding one. I always enjoyed seeing the photos afterwards and became interested in the mechanics of a great picture. Documenting weddings and vow renewals with an honest and creative eye is what I strive to do.
To showcase a wedding with that vision in mind, I need to represent each couple in their own unique way. Talking things out and working closely together is the ideal way we can get the images that represent everyone properly.
My goal is to approach photo sessions to be very natural and as a chance to create something unique. Whether its a wedding, vow renewal, engagement photos, family portrait or other event, it is a day will never be replicated and has to be captured at that moment.
