The short, short version.
I grew up in Pennsylvania, close enough to the Hershey’s Factory to smell chocolate most days.
I went to school for engineering/physics and came to Maui in 2004 to teach 6th grade science.
I found teaching to be fun and rewarding. As a new challenge, I started officiating weddings in the evenings. I always enjoyed seeing the photos afterwards and became interested in the mechanics of a great picture. After 11 years of teaching in Kihei, my soon-to-be wife helped me turn my passion for photography into a full-time job.
Julie and I got married in June, 2015 and we enjoy traveling, paddle-boarding and raising out new daughter together.
Gabriella was born Feb 2017…she is young, but she is definitely in charge.
My style for photography starts with some basic poses (with as much or little instruction as you want) blending a healthy dose of photojournalism as we have fun together. I want to capture the moments as they happen so we get photos that look natural and real. I like bright, vibrant, realistic colors that you can look at years later and be able to relive your wedding, your engagement or your family vacation.
I am “required by law” to include a photo of myself holding a camera on my photography bio page…
